CMPOA Board
Meeting Minutes August 8, 2012
The meeting was called to order by President Dwight Storm at 7:07 pm at the home of Joe Steinbach.
Present were Dwight Storm, Darrel DelDuca, Diane Lekic, Hiroo Shiba, Jay Haworth, Doreen Smith, Bob Engel, and Joe Steinbach.
UPDATE OF JIM BARNHILL
Jim Barnhill was
scheduled to have been moved today to Sterling House, an assisted living facility.
After the opening prayer, the first order of business
was to review the June 13, 2012, and July 11, 2012 meeting minutes. At present the June minutes are missing.
One correction was made to the July minutes. There are currently three homes for sale in Columbine Manor.
The home of Steve Scott, at 5148 Hinsdale, is for sale along with the two properties at 5019 W. Fremont Ave.
and 7204 Platte Canyon Drive that were listed in the July minutes.
TREASURER'S REPORTS
Treasurer's Report: There
are now 123 members of CMPOA.
Trash Treasurer's Report: There are now 122 CMPOA members participating in Waste Management's
trash removal service.
INTRODUCTION OF
BOARD MEMBER - HIROO SHIBA
Hiroo Shiba gave an interesting and detailed account of his life story. Next month Robyn Hall
will introduce herself.

HOMES SOLD AND
FOR SALE

houses have recently sold: 5112 W. Geddes Circle has sold. 7204 Platte Canyon has a contract on it.

for sale: 5019 W. Fremont Avenue.
WELCOME BASKET
Diane Lekic delivered a welcome basket to the new neighbors at 5112 W. Geddes Circle.
NEW SECTOR ASSIGNMENTS
Each Board member
is responsible for handing out Manor Banners and other printed information to CMPOA members listed in their respective sectors.
2012 DIRECTORY
Darrel DelDuca
reported that the 2012 Directory is now ready to go to print.
OKTOBERFEST
Diane Lekic presented a progress report. Authentic
German artifacts and Oktoberfest music cds are being gathered for the upcoming event. Ideas were discussed for
boosting attendance.
CHRISTMAS PARTY
AND ANNUAL MEETING RESERVATIONS
Reservations will be made in September through Columbine United Church.
YARD-OF-THE-MONTH AWARD
Eric and Judy Schnittker, at
5110 W. Fremont Avenue, have received the award for August.
DRIVEWAY CAMPAIGN
Mac McIntire will manage this project for CMPOA members that wish
to participate in a group discount to replace driveways.
NEW BUSINESS
YOUNG NEIGHBORS TO OFFER HELPING HANDS
Lianna Olsen, granddaughter of Joe Steinbach,
proposed an idea for herself and other children to visit neighborhood elderly. She wishes to offer companionship and assistance
with chores as needed.
2012 RESIDENTIAL
SURVEY
Neighborhood
demographics are changing - the majority of households are now within the age 26-64 bracket. The second largest bracket is
age 65 plus.
CURB AND GUTTERS
Results of visual
survey of curb and gutters needing repair will be assessed.
BY-LAWS REVIEW
Board members are to review By-laws before the next meeting.
Updates may be needed as the needs of the Association shift.
SEPTEMBER MEETING
The next Board meeting will be held September 12th at the home
of Annemarie Garber.
