CMPOA Meeting minutes for the 12/12/2012 Board Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 7:07 at the home of Joe Steinbach.  Present were Joe Steinbach, Robyn Hall, Darrel Del Duca, Bob Engel, Annemarie Garber, Hiroo Shiba, and Doreen Smith.
 
After the opening prayer, the November meeting minutes were approved.
 
UPDATE ON JIM BARNHILL
Both Jim and Marilouise attended Darrel Del Duca's annual Christmas party on December 8th. 
 
TREASURER'S REPORT
To date there are 123 CMPOA members.
 
TRASH TREASURER'S REPORT
As of this date there are 122 households participating in Waste Management's trash removal service.
 
INTRODUCTION OF BOARD MEMBER - Bob Engel
A Colorado native, Bob was an army aircraft mechanic during WWII. He gave a lively and detailed life story.

REVIEW OF DECEMBER MANOR BANNER
Corrections to this issue will appear in the February edition. The Board nominated Doreen Smith to be the new Banner Editor.

REVIEW OF XMAS PARTY
The event was very well attended - 82 neighbors were there, including new families with their children.
Plenty of pizza slices, salads, and desserts were enjoyed by all.
 
NEW BUSINESS
 
ANNUAL MEETING/SPRING SOCIAL
The event will be held on Saturday, February 9th at Columbine United Church.
 
TEMPORARY RECESS
At 7:41 the Board toured the neighborhood to judge outdoor lighting for the Annual Christmas Lighting Contest.
 
MEETING RECONVENED
At 8:16 the Board regrouped to continue the meeting. The first order of business was to select contest winners.
 
ANNUAL CHRISTMAS LIGHTING CONTEST WINNERS
All winners will receive gift certificates to Home Depot.
Grand Prize - $35.00 certificate to Gary and Mo Redmond at 7386 S. Platte Canyon Dr. 
Runner-Up - $25 certificate to Darrel and Andrea Del Duca at 5149 W. Fremont Ave.
Best Variety - $15 certificate to Mark Climp and Rena'ee Sealy-Climp at 5133 W. Geddes Cir.
Most Traditional - $15 certificate to Don and Traci Schade at 7113 S. Platte Canyon Dr.
Youngest Designer - $15 to Drake Hall at 5009 W. Fremont Ave.
 
COYOTES IN NEIGHBORHOOD
Coyotes have become more aggressive, even during daylight hours. The Board is contacting Animal Control for any Public Safety guidelines they can offer to address this. 
 
ATTEMPTED AUTO THEFT
Scott and Sue Wetterlin, at 5127 W. Hinsdale Circle, were recently the victims of an attempted theft of their Honda. The thieves caused over $700 in damage to the steering and ignition switch.
 
BOARD MEMBER CANDIDATES FOR 2013 - 2014
There is ongoing consideration for new Board Member nominees.
 
The next Board meeting will be held at the home of Darrel Del Duca on January 9th, 2013.
