CMPOA Board Meeting Minutes May 8, 2013
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 pm at the
home of Doreen Smith. Present were: Hiroo Shiba, Bob Engel, Joe Steinbach, Darrel
Del Duca, Jay Haworth, Diane Lekic, and Doreen Smith.
The April minutes were reviewed and two corrections
were made. The minutes were then approved.
TREASURER’S REPORT
The balance in our HOA account is $6,588.39. To date there are 125 members.
TRASH TREASURER’S REPORT
The balance in this account for Waste Management
services is $375.87. There are 124 participants in the Waste Management program.

GENERAL/SAFETY NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS
Darrel Del Duca represented Columbine Manor at an
open forum held April 17 for a proposed new development called Meadows at South Platte. The development company was seeking
input and support to rezone the property at the corner of Platte Canyon and Mineral to include retail and multifamily units. There is a stoplight proposed to be on Mineral one block down from where the development
would be.
Summer is coming – there was discussion about
street safety and watching out for kids playing that may have ventured onto the street.
2013 BOARD MEMBER SECTOR
Each Board member will be responsible for 14 –
15 houses.
BOARD MEMBERS AND PHONE TREE LEADERS
Each Board member is to enlist a CMPOA member to
head a phone tree in their sector for reminder calls about upcoming social events, etc.
NEXT NEWSLETTER
The next addition of the Manor Banner will be out
in June and distributed well before the Summer Picnic. All articles were discussed
and reviewed for content.
NEW
BUSINESS
2013/14 EVENTS
SUMMER PICNIC
The picnic will be held Sunday, June 23rd.
Artists will be hired for face painting and caricatures for both kids and adults.
ROLL-OFF DUMPSTER
The dumpster will be available for disposal
of unwanted items on Saturday, June 29th and Sunday, June 30th.
Darrel Del Duca and Joe Steinbach will coordinate the volunteer list.
SCRAP METAL DRIVE
A trailer needs to be located for the metal items.
If one is not located or there is not enough interest in holding the drive, it will be cancelled.
FRONT ENTRANCE CLEANUP
Volunteers are needed for the cleanup, which will
be held from 9-11 am on Saturday, June 29th. There was discussion
that Robyn Hall could coordinate the event if it is to be held. She was not in
attendance so no decisions were finalized.
PLANT SALE
A motion was made and seconded to cancel the plant
sale.
OKTOBERFEST
The date for this event is still pending: it will
either be held on Saturday, Sept. 28 or Sunday, Oct. 5.
XMAS PIZZA PARTY
This event will be held on Saturday, December 7.
ANNUAL MEETING & WINTER SOCIAL
This will take place on Saturday, Feb 8 2014.
YARD-OF-THE-MONTH
The winners for the month of May are Lee and Irma
Hammer at 7306 S. Platte Canyon Dr. They will receive a $50 gift certificate
from Home Depot. Each member will come to next month’s meeting with
1-3 yards to vote on.
Next month’s meeting will be held at the home
of Darrel Del Ducal on June 12 at 7 pm.
The following meeting will take place at the home
of Bob Engel on July 10 at 7 pm.
The meeting adjourned at 8:53 pm.
