12/13/2006
The meeting opened with prayer at 7 PM

In attendance were Dwight Storm, Jim Barnhill, Candy Dixon, Annemarie Garber, Larry Lekic, Dean Ellefson, Bob Engel and Diane Hicks.
Novembers Minutes were approved with one correction.

Treasury Report:

We balance with the bank statement at $5163.42.  We have 123 members to date.

Old Business:
  • Flags were purchased at a discounted price.  There was discussion because some members felt that the board had not voted yet to have flags. Further more, if there are going to be flags, they should be incorporated into the new entrances which have not been decided on either. We held a vote to keep the flags, 4 yes, 2 no and 2 did not vote.  The vote did not include a yes vote to put them up though.  There will be further discussion on whether or not to have the whole neighbor hood vote on this issue since it is a representation of their neighborhood.
  • The Barrett company is the only driveway company that holds up to our legal standards.  They will start giving quotes soon.
  • Diane and Larry are doing fine on their parties.
  • We all agreed that the new Manor Banner look is great!  We hope it will get more attention.
  • Larry Lekic had announced that he would not return for another term on the board.  We need ideas for new prospects.  Dwight would stay on but not as president.
  • We spoke of insurance again.  There were questions that needed answers to before we could vote.  Dwight will get more information and we will re-visit in January.
  • The new directory will go out with the same format.  We had no changes to their current sectors.
  • We want to revise the Lawn of the Month again but make it different with someone else in charge, more than one person winning per month, gift cards to O’Tooles, different criteria, etc.  We will revisit.
New Business:
  • The board voted to continue Christmas caroling.  Meet at Dwight’s at 7:30 pm 12/22.
  • Poinsettias will be purchased and delivered.  We need 13
  • We discussed and agreed to put a ribbon on Ed Reid’s tree in the park this summer in tribute to his long and hard work for our neighborhood.
  • We agreed not to decorate the entrances for Christmas this year.  Too late.  Maybe next year.
  • Susan Beckman’s husband is temporary chief of police.  This could help our soliciting cause.
  • There are 2 houses for sale.
  • We have 2 new neighbors:  Mr.& Ms Sailor and Mike & Mary Gilbert.
  • Dwight told us to be careful about plumbers that want to replace sewer lines that don’t actually need it.  Very costly
  • Next two meetings will be held at Jim Barnhill’s home.

Meeting adjourned at 9:10 PM
