The December board meeting was called to order at 7:10 pm on December
10th at the home of Joe and Liz Wuest. Darrel Del Duca, Bob Engel, Jim Barnhill, Mike Derou, Joe Wuest, Joe Steinback
and LuAnn McGuire in attendance.
First order of business was approval of November board minutes. Minutes were approved by the board with no corrections.
Second order of business was the Treasurer's report by Joe. Report was approved.
The Pointsettias are in process of being delivered to the identified folks in the neighborhood. Only a couple remain
to be delivered.
Next, we discussed the Holiday party held at the Columbine United Church on December 6th. The party was considered
a success with over 60+ folks attending the event. Bow Mar Pizza provided the pizza for the dinner.
Special thanks to our visiting Mrs. Claus, Rena'ee Climp for the wonderful face painting, good friend Suzanne Lipfert
for running the kitchen and of course board members and spouses for all their assistance to make the party a success.
The "White Elephant" exchange had great participation and many very nice items exchanged.
Waste Management discussion of the new contract and details was a lengthy discuss
of the surcharge and the need to get a special flyer to all neighbors in next couple of weeks. A motion to provide self
addressed envelopes for the return of the trash/dues payment was approved by the board. Existing contract
expires February 28th, board discussed the timing of collections from the neighborhood to meet the deadline for payment. Joe
W. took the action to write up the details of the contract for the flyer.
New business discussed:
Valentine party - Group discussed the possible movement of the party from February 14th to either the 21st or 7th.
Lu took the action to see if a date change with the church is possible. January meeting will be used to work the details
of the event. Menu, door prizes, etc were briefly discussed.
Nomination of new board members - short discussion of the process and protocol for nominating new or existing board members
for additional term.
Board was excited by the neighborhood snow removers who came out with their snow blowers to assist the neighbors - good
job. Thank you will be written in next Banner edition.
Lastly we talked about participation from the folks at the Holiday party and if the timing of the events around holidays
was a good idea. More discussion to follow.
No other new business to discuss. Meeting was adjourned at 8:20 pm.
Next meeting will by January 14th at the home of Mike Derou.
