The first meeting of 2009 Columbine Manor Property Owners Association (CMPOA) meeting was held at the home
of Michael and Lisa Derou on January 14, 2009. President Darrel Del Duca called the meeting to order at approximately
7:08 PM. Hiroo Shiba announced there was a quorum.
Attendees: Members present were AnneMarie Garber, Bob Engel, Michael Derou, Joe Wuest, Hannah Shiba,
Joe Steinbach, Darrel Del Duca, Jim Barnhill and Hiroo Shiba.
Old business:
- Last Month’s Minutes: Approval of the December board meeting minutes was passed as first
order of business.
- Waste Management/Annual Dues: The Treasurer reported receiving 28 checks so far. The
treasurer requested and the members confirmed some properties within Columbine Manor are vacant at this time. The
President discussed having members responsible for their respective sectors to solicit collection of the dues/fees by the
deadline.
- Darrell read a letter from Elizabeth Deak expressing appreciation for assistance in removing snow from
their side-walk.
New Business:
Hiroo Shiba volunteered to write up the minutes in the absence of the Secretary, LuAnn Mcguire.
Joe Wuest presented the Treasurer’s Report as of December 31, 2008. Account had a balance of $5,059.99.
The board approved the Treasurer’s Report.
The treasurer distributed the CMPOA Expense Budget and Cash Flow Worksheet. The board reviewed the worksheet
to develop the 2009/2010 budget:
The budget for the following 2009 events was amended over the previous year’s:
Winter/Valentine’s Day Event: Increased from $400 to $600.
Halloween: Decreased from $150 to $0.00. This event was removed from 2009.
Christmas Party: Increased from $200 to $400.
Colorado Corporation Report: Increased from $10 to $35.
Review of Christmas Holiday Party: Board unanimously agreed that it was a very successful one.
Darrel requested contribution of articles from the board members for our next newsletter.
Annual Meeting Held with Winter Social/Valentine’s day event: This event will be held on Saturday,
February 21, 2009, at the Columbine United Church at Platte Canyon Road. Several members had contacted Diane Hicks to ensure
reservations have been made at the church. Dinner Menu: Spaghetti dinner, bread and salad will be offered after the
Annual Meeting.
Annual meeting agenda will commence at 6PM and should last approximately 20 minutes, including opening prayer
to be performed by Bob Engel and election of officers.
Three board members who were not officially elected last year will be re-introduced for election. The announcement
of this event is to be published on the next Manner Banner and distributed along with a separate flyer for this event. Deadline
to Liz Wuest for submittal of article(s) for the next Manner Banner is January 23, 2009. Distribution will take place beginning
February 2. This should include an article about the Annual Meeting/Winter Social/Valentine Day event.
The meeting adjourned at 9:10 PM. The next board meeting will be held at the home of AnneMarie Garber at
5152 W. Geddes Circle.
