Meeting commenced at approximately 7:18 PM. Attendees were: Darrel Del Duca, Hiroo
Shiba, Joe Wuest, Jim Barnhill and Bob Engel. Hiroo Shiba stood in for LuAnn
McGuire to take the minutes.
Approval of minutes from January was the first
order of business. Joe Wuest presented the board with the treasurer’s report
and the 2010-2011 budget. Both were approved.
Waste Management:
Discussion of the annual dues and trash collection followed. Darrel volunteered to call each neighbor who had not paid
either the association dues and/or trash fees. Also, discussed possibility
of assessing a “late fee” and possibility of using paypal payment service for collecting future fees and dues. Darrel to check into it. There was a
concern expressed by several members about Waste Mgm’t’s failure to cease trash pickup of non-paying neighbors. Darrrell will contact Waste Mgm’t with the list by Friday.
Annual Meeting Plans: Darrel Del Duca reviewed the agenda with the board for the annual meeting slated for 02/13/10. Jim Barnhill will use the call list
again to remind the neighbors. Bob Engel will conduct opening prayers. Darrel to purchase additional stick on name labels.
Hiroo Shiba brought over the certificate of appreciation
for the officers to sign. LuAnn McGuire could not attend today’s meeting
due to a scheduling conflict, but board members received an email status from her with regard to her action items in preparation
for the annual meeting.
Open Space Development: Darrel shared with the board that the president of Columbine Knolls Homeowners Association had contacted
him regarding possible development of a stretch of open space that is shared by Columbine Knolls to the west and Columbine
Manor to the east. This is a proposal to develop the area as a pedestrian throughway
(paved or unpaved) with surrounding landscape, benches, plants and shrubs and even sprinkler system. Funding sources that will be looked into will be with Arapahoe and Jeffco counties, Foothills and South
Suburban Recreation Districts. Darrel to attend meetings with Columbine Knolls
home owner’s association in the near future.
United Columbine
Church Donations: Jim Barnhill motioned
to raise the donations from the current $50 to $100 for the association’s use of the Church. This would be twice per yr. (Holiday party and Valentine’s Party).
This motion to increase to $100 was approved by the board.
Future Events:
Need volunteers for Easter Egg Hunt (3/27 at 1pm); other upcoming events are Summer
Picnic and OctoberFest. No board members were identified to lead the events.
