CMPOA Board Meeting Minutes April 11, 2012
The
meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm by President Dwight Storm at his residence. Present were Dwight Storm, Diane Lekic,
Robyn Hall, Doreen Smith, Darrel Del Duca, Joe Steinbach, Jay Haworth, Jim Barnhill, and Hiroo Shiba.
After
the opening prayer, March meeting minutes were approved after minor corrections.
TREASURER’S REPORTS
CMPOA Trash Removal Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer Darrel Del Duca distributed a detailed report of total income and expenses. As of this date,
there are 120 households participating in the Waste Management service.

Treasurer Darrel Del Duca distributed a detailed report of total income, expenses, and outstanding
checks. As of this date, there are 121 households that are members of CMPOA.
NEW BOARD MEMBER INTRODUCTION
New Board Member at Large, Diane Lekic, introduced herself to the board with a five minute presentation.
Jay Haworth, new Board Member at Large, will introduce himself during the May meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
Columbine Manor Annual Easter Egg Hunt
The event was well-organized and may have been the largest attended on record. There were 32 children
that participated.
New Neighbor Baskets
Jim Barnhill will deliver a welcome basket to Deanna and Jared Masterson at 5040 W. Fremont Ave.
Dwight Storm will deliver a welcome basket to Josh and Joey Schilling at 5006 W. Hinsdale Circle.
NEW BUSINESS
There is a fence that has gone down between Ethel Robinson’s house and that of her neighbor,
Maurice and Marie Reiber. Darrel Del Duca will contact Ethel’s daughter to discuss repair.
Discussion followed over neighborhood ordinances and the overall condition and appearance of the neighborhood.
Plant Sale May 19
The Board possesses wholesale booklets listing plants available for purchase. Neighbors may contact
the Board to peruse the listings and make selections. Don Godi will be selecting the highest quality plants at the nursery.
Plants will be available for pickup at Darrel Del Duca’s on May 19th. All orders must be placed with Don Godi by May 15th.
Annual Picnic June 10th
Jay Haworth will be the coordinator of the event. Any neighbors interested in volunteering for the
picnic may contact the Board.
July Event – Auto Show
Discussion of this upcoming event was tabled until the next meeting due to time constraints.
Review of Recent Sales of Homes in Columbine Manor and Homes currently for sale
a, 5006 W. Hinsdale was recently purchased by Josh and Joey Schilling.
b. 5040 W. Fremont Ave was recently purchased by Jared and Deanna Masterson.
c. There is a contract on Amy Zal’s house at 5138 W. Hinsdale Circle.
d. Four homes are for sale: 5019 W. Fremont Ave., 5148 W. Hinsdale Circle, 5112 W. Geddes Circle,
and 5129 W. Fremont Ave. Ethel Robinson’s home at 5132 W. Fremont Dr. may be for sale soon.
Hearing Aid Proposal
President Dwight Storm has nearly finalized a deal with Hearing Rehab Center for discounts on hearing
aids for all neighbors interested. This company carries all major brands and models and offers a free hearing test and analysis.
A $500 discount will be offered on three models of high grade hearing aids. A $200 discount will be available on the Lyric
brand and lower-grade models. The discount will apply to CMPOA members that are current residents of Columbine Manor and their
extended families. This discount will also be available to any residents that move out of the neighborhood and are in good
standing with CMPOA.
Acts of Kindness
A new neighborhood program for children was presented by President Dwight Storm called “Acts
of Kindness” (AOK). Through this program, young children will be encouraged to participate in acts of kindness by helping
elderly neighbors with tasks such as bringing empty trash cans or newspapers up driveways. Vice President Robyn Hall will
facilitate the program.
The next Board meeting will be May 9th at Joe Steinbach’s home.
